Arrest of Thief Who Stole “Bowanda” Shoes from Lat Phrao Area

Bangkok: A thief was arrested for stealing five pairs of "Bow Wanda" shoes, worth over 16,800 baht, from the parking lot of a residence in the Lat Phrao area. Pol. Col. Pornthep Chalermkiat, Superintendent of Suthisan Police Station, and Pol. Lt. Col. Nitithon Yotchotwanit, Deputy Superintendent of Investigation, Suthisan Police Station, have ordered investigators to expedite the pursuit of the perpetrators of thefts in the Lat Phrao area.

According to Thai News Agency, on August 28th, famous actress Bow Van filed a report with Police Lieutenant Kriangkrai Nodtham, Deputy Inspector (Investigation) at Suthisan Police Station, alleging that a thief had broken into her home on Soi Lat Phrao 48, Intersection 12, Samsen Nok Subdistrict, Huai Khwang District, Bangkok, and stolen five pairs of shoes that had been left in the parking lot. The stolen items are valued at over 16,800 baht.

From the CCTV footage, it was found that the perpetrator was a single man who rode a motorcycle and parked near the victim's house before opening the gate, taking the shoes, and fleeing. Police later apprehended the perpetrator, identified as Mr. Somsong, along with several pairs of shoes. He was apprehended on the side of Ngam Wongwan Road, near Soi Ngam Wongwan 21, as he was about to commit another crime. During initial questioning, the suspect confessed to the crime, as seen in the CCTV footage. He said he used the money he received from the crime for his daily expenses, as he had just been released from prison on July 14th. With a criminal record, he was not hired, leading to the incident.

An investigation revealed that the motorcycle used in the incident had been reported missing at Thung Song Hong Police Station. Initially, the owner of the vehicle was contacted to confirm ownership. Mr. Somsong was then taken to investigators at Suthisan Police Station for legal proceedings.
