Bangkok: "Anutin" ordered the use of administrative mechanisms at all levels to enforce the law to drive social order, tighten restrictions on entertainment venues, drugs, human trafficking, firearms, gambling, and watch out for influential people. He stressed that the results must be reported every month, which is considered a KPI to evaluate government performance.
According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Traisuree Traisaranakul, Secretary to the Minister of Interior and Spokesperson of the Ministry of Interior, stated that the government has a policy to solve the drug problem and suppress all forms of crime. The Ministry of Interior has a policy to organize society and suppress influential people. To make these policies tangible, Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, has ordered the use of administrative mechanisms at all levels to support the operation.
Recently, the Ministry of Interior issued guidelines for implementing social order policies. Mr. Anutin instructed all provincial governors, department heads, and state enterprise heads to adhere to these guidelines to align government and Ministry of Interior policies. The goal is to create security and maximize benefits for the people.
Ms. Traisulee elaborated that Mr. Anutin's directive emphasizes the importance of educating and understanding the principles of social order to address societal disorder and non-enforcement of laws. This involves using administrative mechanisms at every level, including district chiefs, deputy district chiefs, kamnans, village headmen, and members of the Volunteer Defense Corps (VDV), to support and collaborate with relevant agencies in enforcing the law strictly.
Mr. Anutin highlighted that strict law enforcement is necessary against all undesirable activities, focusing on service and entertainment venues, drugs, human trafficking, firearms possession, gambling, and monitoring influential people. Monthly performance reports will be required as part of the KPIs for evaluating government performance.
