Ubon Ratchathani: Anutin Charnvirakul, Minister of Interior, visited Ubon Ratchathani to oversee disaster preparedness efforts in three lower northeastern provinces.
According to Thai News Agency, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul's visit to Ubon Ratchathani University focused on evaluating the effectiveness of local surveillance, monitoring, and warning systems in Ubon Ratchathani, Amnat Charoen, and Sisaket provinces.
Accompanying Mr. Anutin on this visit were Ms. Sabida Thaiset, Deputy Minister of Interior, Mr. Chaichanok Chidchob, Secretary-General of the Bhumjaithai Party, and Mr. Arsit Samphantharat, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior. The event included a presentation on water situation forecasts and the use of the Thai Disaster Alert application to manage flood situations. Additionally, a seminar was held to discuss enhancing the efficiency of surveillance, situation tracking, and disaster warnings. The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) also organized an exhibition attended by over 4,000 community leaders from the three provinces.
Later in the day, Mr. Anutin planned to visit Phibun Mangsahan District to review the main drainage system construction project aimed at resolving flooding issues and to engage with local residents.
