Anutin Leads Meeting to Plan 2016 Integrated Budget to Combat Corruption

Bangkok: "Anutin" leads a meeting on the integrated budget plan for 2016 to fight corruption, push for transparency in the public sector according to the principles of good governance, aiming for Thailand's CPI to be ranked 1st in 45. Ms. Traisuree Traisaranakul, Secretary to the Minister of Interior and Spokesperson of the Ministry of Interior, revealed that today (January 29, 2025) at 2:00 p.m., Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior (MoI 1), chaired the meeting of the Integrated Budget Preparation Committee for Fiscal Year 2026, Group 3.1, Integrated Anti-Corruption and Misconduct Plan, No. 1/2025, with Mr. Chusak Sirinil, Minister Attached to the Prime Minister's Office, as Vice Chairman, and Mr. Saroj Phuengramphan, Secretary-General of the NACC, as a member and co-secretary, attending the meeting at the Ratchasi Meeting Room, 2nd Floor, Ministry of Interior Hall.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Anutin said that Ms. Paethongtarn Shinawatra, Prime Minister, signed the Prime Minister's Office Order No. 475/2567 dated December 23, 2567, appointing the "Integrated Budget Preparation Committee for Fiscal Year 2569, Group 3.1, Integrated Anti-Corruption and Misconduct Plan" to determine the criteria, objectives, scope, missions, joint goals, operational guidelines, indicators, budget recipient units for the preparation of the integrated budget as necessary and appropriate, and to consider the projects, activities, and integrated budgets for fiscal year 2569 of the assigned integrated plan and prepare proposals to submit to the Budget Bureau.

'I believe that all agencies will work together to integrate their work on corruption prevention and suppression to achieve success with transparency and accountability, which will be an important element in enhancing transparency and awareness by using technology to supervise and monitor for maximum efficiency. The public can access information and verify it,' said Mr. Anutin.

Mr. Chusak said that this project is an integrated project resulting from the cooperation of various agencies with the main goal of combating corruption through instilling good conscience and setting clear guidelines. If successful, it will result in an improvement in Thailand's Corruption Perception Index (CPI). Therefore, he asked all sectors to cooperate in monitoring and developing continuous corruption prevention methods to achieve the most beneficial results for the country and its people.

Ms. Traisulee said that today's meeting approved the principles and guidelines for the preparation of the integrated budget proposal for fiscal year 2026, the integrated plan to combat corruption and misconduct, which has the goal of 'Thailand is free from corruption and misconduct', with the goal of solving and reducing corruption problems in Thai society, focusing on instilling awareness and creating values ??of honesty, integrity, morality, and ethics in all sectors, promoting organizational management in accordance with the principles of good governance, improving and enforcing the law strictly and fairly, and providing opportunities for the public to participate in preventing and suppressing corruption and misconduct, with important indicators such as Thailand being ranked 1st in 45 on the Corruption Perception Index (CPI) and/or receiving a score of no less than 56 within 2026.

'Mr. Anutin also assigned the secretariat to continuously monitor the budget usage in order to make the most use of it and achieve all the set goals. He also thanked all agencies for honoring him by attending the meeting,' Ms. Traisulee added.

The meeting was attended by senior executives of the Ministry of Interior, including Mr. Sora-at Klinprathum, Chairman of the Advisory Board to the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Mr. Arsit Sampantharat, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, Mr. Somjet Limpaphan, Advisor to the Minister of Interior, Mr. Chayut Phummakanchana, Assistant to the Minister to the Prime Minister's Office, Mr. Boonjong Wongtrairat, Assistant to the Minister to the Ministry of Interior, and representatives of relevant agencies.
