Bangkok: 'Anutin' has inaugurated the E-SAN Life drive stage to propel Northeast Thailand towards a promising future, aiming to unlock potential and ensure steady progress for the people. He commended 'Akhom' for his tenure as the Minister of Finance, supporting 'Saksayam' in enhancing transportation to connect the lower Northeast before expressing gratitude to the MPs for their dedication despite their busy schedules.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, delivered a speech at the E-SAN Life drive event, focusing on the future of eight Northeastern provinces: Sisaket, Ubon Ratchathani, Amnat Charoen, Yasothon, Nakhon Ratchasima, Chaiyaphum, Surin, and Buriram. Present were Mr. Arkhom Termpittayapaisith, member of the Council of State, Mr. Arsit Sampantharat, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, along with senior civil servants and governors.
Mr. Anutin expressed his appreciation, particularly towards Mr. Arkom from Sisaket, highlighting the value of his extensive experience. As a former Secretary-General of the National Economic and Social Development Board, and a former Minister of Transport and Finance, Mr. Arkom's insights are expected to significantly contribute to economic development strategies. The event marked a collaboration across sectors, including private, civil, political, and public realms, to drive economic development from established foundations through exchanges between public and private sectors, and the governors of the 8 northeastern provinces.
The development plan for the Northeastern region from 2023-2027 aims to establish the lower region as the economic center of the Mekong Subregion, focusing on three dimensions: Green, Gate, and Growth. This includes environmentally friendly agricultural and industrial production, transforming Thailand into a central gateway for ASEAN countries, and enhancing the quality of life through technology and innovation. The initiative also emphasizes developing education, medicine, and the economy to ensure modern educational opportunities and improved quality of life for all age groups.
Mr. Anutin also lauded Mr. Arkhom's past contributions, noting the supportive partnership with Mr. Saksayam Chidchob as Minister of Transport. Together, they advanced projects like high-speed trains and bridges across the Mekong River, significantly enhancing Thailand's transportation infrastructure. Mr. Anutin emphasized that with effective management, Thailand could become the transportation hub of ASEAN.
He concluded by thanking the MPs for their participation and commitment to their duties, even amidst a tight schedule. He also expressed gratitude to the civil servants of the Ministry of Interior for their dedication to listening and implementing policies for the country's and the people's benefit.
