Bangkok: The National Defence College (NDCC) has recently placed a picture of Anutin Charnvirakul on its esteemed alumni list following his appointment as the 32nd Prime Minister. Anutin, who graduated from the NDCC in 2018, becomes the seventh alumnus to assume this significant role.
According to Thai News Agency, this tradition of displaying the photograph of alumni who ascend to the position of Prime Minister is a recognized practice within the NDCC. The list of NDCC alumni who have previously served as Prime Ministers includes notable figures such as Field Marshal Thanom Kittikachorn from Class 1, General Prem Tinsulanonda of Class 9, General Kriangsak Chamanan from Class 5, and General Surayud Chulanont of Class 36. Other distinguished names include Mr. Somchai Wongsawat from Class 38 and General Prayut Chan-o-cha, a Privy Councilor and alumnus of the NDC Joint Public-Private Sector Course (NPSC), Class 20.
This tradition underscores the significant role the college plays in shaping leaders who go on to assume pivotal roles in the country's governance.
