Anutin Charnvirakul Dismisses Claims of Following Former PM’s Dining Habits

Bangkok: Anutin Charnvirakul, leader of the Bhumjaithai Party, has dismissed claims that he is following in the footsteps of former prime ministers by frequenting a famous braised goose restaurant. He clarified that he has long been a patron of the establishment, where he once shared a meal with former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra two decades ago.

According to Thai News Agency, Anutin addressed the issue after photos surfaced of him dining at the well-known restaurant in the Krungthep Kreetha area. Anutin explained that he regularly visits the eatery on weekends and recommends ordering the tender meat with skin for optimal taste, as opposed to the tougher breast meat. He shared that the dish pairs well with stewed bitter melon and pickled mustard greens.

Anutin further commented on his long-standing relationship with the restaurant, noting that he has been a customer since its days in the Khlong Tan area before its relocation. Regarding the photo of Thaksin displayed on the restaurant wall, Anutin expressed his disapproval, while acknowledging that Thaksin was a regular visitor and had dined with him there during his tenure as Prime Minister. When questioned about whether his visits constitute following a similar pattern, Anutin firmly denied the suggestion.
