Akaradej Acknowledges Teasing Over Bhumjaithai Party Application

Bangkok: Akaradej Wongpitakroj has admitted to being teased about signing his name on the application form for the Bhumjaithai Party. He mentioned that a group of 12 MPs is currently waiting for Ekkanat Promphan to finalize his decision to join the Blue Party. Discussions are being expedited, and the public will be informed before the dissolution of Parliament.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Akaradej, a member of the House of Representatives for Ratchaburi Province and former spokesman for the Ruam Thai Sang Chart Party, spoke after attending the announcement of the National Defense College's Class 67 study results. He clarified his political stance, stating that after resigning as spokesman, he had discussions with Mr. Ekkanat Promphan and 11-12 other MPs about beginning political work together.

Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul jokingly remarked that Mr. Akaradej had already filled out the application form and only needed to sign his name. Mr. Akaradej, currently a student at the National Defense College Class 67, mentioned that he had welcomed Mr. Anutin and had previously spoken with him. He noted that Mr. Anutin perceived his political approach as similar to that of the Bhumjaithai Party, indicating a potential opportunity for collaboration in the near future.

Regarding his political future, Mr. Akaradej stated that he remains a member of the Ruam Thai Sang Chart Party and emphasized the need to consider political etiquette. He acknowledged the necessity for clarity to ensure his former constituency is informed.

Mr. Akaradej admitted that his resignation as party spokesman was due to internal issues. Some members left to join Mr. Suchart Chomklin, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, while others aligned with Mr. Ekkanat.

Reporters observed that Mr. Akaradej followed closely behind Mr. Anutin after the announcement of the study results before continuing to explore the National Defense College booth.
