Anutin Announces Parliament Dissolution Timeline Amid Speaker Controversy

Bangkok: Anutin Charnvirakul, the Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, has announced that the House of Representatives will be dissolved in four months. This statement follows the removal of Pol. Lt. Gen. Pol. Gen. Wan Nor from the Speaker position.

According to Thai News Agency, Anutin, who also serves as the leader of the Bhumjaithai Party, clarified that the dissolution timeline is not the official stance of the Bhumjaithai Party. He emphasized that this view is a personal opinion and not representative of the party's position. This statement was made in response to Phonlape Suwanchawee, an MP from Nakhon Ratchasima representing the Bhumjaithai Party, who called for the resignation of the Speaker of the House from the Prachachat and Pheu Thai parties.

Anutin addressed inquiries regarding whether House Speaker Wan Muhanor Matha should resign, reiterating that the House of Representatives is set to dissolve in four months. He confirmed that the opinions expressed by Bhumjaithai Party MPs do not reflect the party's stance. Instead, they are personal views that MPs are free to express. He also mentioned that the procedural aspects remain unclear.

When questioned about his own stance as Prime Minister, Anutin reiterated that the dissolution of the House of Representatives is already scheduled to occur within the stated timeframe.
