Bangkok: 'S.B.P.P.' has introduced five strategies aimed at promoting the market and advocating for Thai fruit consumption to support farmers and orchard owners along the Thai-Cambodian border who face difficulties in exporting their products.
According to Thai News Agency, the Center for Special Operations in the Thai-Cambodian Border Situation Administration (CSOPA) has developed these strategies to aid farmers and gardeners unable to export their goods. The initiatives include organizing a fruit consumption campaign titled 'Thai Fruit Festival 2025' in partnership with department stores, retail-wholesale outlets, local shops, the Thai Agricultural Wholesale Market Trade Association, and the Fresh Market Association.
Additionally, the strategy involves collaborating with four fuel station chains, encompassing 1,097 branches (PTT, PTT Bangchak, Susco) in Bangkok and its environs, to buy mangoes for distribution as souvenirs, targeting 2,000 tons. Another key strategy is linking fruit sales to the Blue Flag Fair and Mobile Commerce events across 30 locations in Bangkok and other provinces, including Eastern fruits in Ratchaburi, Chachoengsao, Surin, and Nakhon Phanom.
The initiative also encourages the purchase of fruits from farmers for social responsibility activities or consumption in various organizations, including government and private agencies such as the Ministry of Finance, the Royal Thai Army, the Royal Thai Police, the Department of Corrections, the Royal Rainmaking Department, Specialized Financial Institutions (SFIs), private banks, and publicly listed companies.
Furthermore, new channels are being expanded in collaboration with Fort Vending Co., Ltd. (Turtle Flying), which plans to buy fruit for juice smoothies and sell them at 15 Turtle Flying vending machines in leading department stores. This collaboration targets an initial 1,000 tons, with a subsequent phase aiming for 7,500 tons nationwide following a Memorandum of Understanding signed on May 16, 2025. Additionally, there is collaboration with Air Asia Airline.
