DUBAI, United Arab Emirates, Sept. 27, 2021 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Today, Virgin Hyperloop revealed that they will be showcasing a full-scale hyperloop cargo pod and a cutaway passenger pod as part of DP World’s FLOW pavilion at Expo 2020.

Upon arrival to the FLOW pavilion, visitors will see a full-scale commercial cargo pod replica, which measures nearly 10 meters long. Surrounding the pod, visitors will learn more about the technology and its future impact through interactive displays, videos, and models.

Int’l Cultural Expo, Tourism Festival on Silk Road Open in Northwest China

DUNHUANG, China, Sept. 28, 2021 /PRNewswire/ — The 5th China Silk Road (Dunhuang) International Cultural Expo and the 10th Dunhuang Tour-Silk Road International Tourism Festival kicked off on September 24 in Dunhuang, a major hub on the ancient Silk Road in northwest China’s Gansu Province. Both events were organized by the Gansu Provincial People’s Government in partnership with other government agencies.

China’s ancient Silk Road spans a total distance of over 7,000 kilometers (4,350 miles), with Gansu’s section extending over 1,600 kilometers (994 miles). “In recent years, Gansu has seized the opportunity to join in the Belt and Road initiative to promote cultural exchanges and cooperation,” said Yin Hong, secretary of the Gansu Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), adding that “These two events build a bridge for cultural integration along the Silk Road and add impetus for the development of countries along the route.”

Sumadi seeks PCR facility at Soekarno Hatta airport

Jakarta (ANTARA) – Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi has asked state-owned airport operator PT Angkasa Pura II to add PCR testing facilities at the international arrivals terminal of Soekarno Hatta Airport, which is among the country’s entry points.

“The addition of PCR facility is needed to shorten the waiting time for passengers arriving at Soekarno-Hatta (airport) in undergoing a health screening here,” he said in a statement monitored here on Tuesday.

Currently, the PCR test capacity at Soekarno Hatta Airport is 200 passengers per hour, he informed.

Therefore, he said adding, PCR testing facilities would help the airport to test more than 700 passengers per hour.

The minister also stressed that strict protocols continue to be implemented at international arrivals to prevent new variants of COVID-19 from entering the country.

Sumadi also called for a temporary restriction on international arrivals while PCR testing facilities are added to prevent overcrowding of passengers at the terminal.

He also requested the integration of aircraft passenger data to facilitate the health screening process for international arrivals.

The minister then lauded all aviation stakeholders who have collaborated to anticipate the entry of COVID-19 new variants, as directed by President Joko Widodo.

Meanwhile, president director of PT Angkasa Pura II, Muhammad Awaluddin, said the airport operator is currently preparing a test laboratory that would be ready within the next two weeks.

“The test laboratory that is currently being prepared at Soekarno-Hatta Airport is a test laboratory with the Bio Safety Level 2 (BSL 2) standard so that the PCR testing for international passengers who just landed at Terminal 3 can be carried out more massively with test results that can be known in just one hour,” Awaluddin informed.

Prof. Jaka Sembiring: Kegiatan Perkuliahan Tatap Muka Bukan untuk Euforia

BANDUNG, itb.ac.id – Wakil Rektor Bidang Akademik dan Kemahasiswaan ITB, Prof. Dr. Ir. Jaka Sembiring, M.Eng. mengingatkan kepada mahasiswa bahwa dibukanya kembali kegiatan akademik di kampus bukan untuk euforia, namun dalam rangka meningkatkan atmosfer akademik.

Sebagaimana diketahui, pada Senin, 27 September 2021, ITB secara resmi mulai membuka kegiatan akademik di kampus dalam transisi kebiasaan baru perkuliahan tatap muka (PTM). Hal tersebut dimaksudkan untuk mencapai tingkat capaian akademik yang terpengaruh secara signifikan akibat pembelajaran daring.

Hal tersebut Prof. Jaka Sembiring sampaikan dalam acara “Kembali ke Kampus” di Kampus ITB, Jalan Ganesha, No.10, Bandung. Acara tersebut dihadiri oleh Rektor beserta Jajaran Pimpinan, dan Perwakilan Mahasiswa.

Dikatakan Prof. Jaka, dalam pembukaan kembali kegiatan akademik di kampus, keselamatan seluruh sivitas akademika tetap menjadi prioritas ITB. Untuk itu, kebijakan perkuliahan tatap muka dilaksanakan secara bertahap, dimulai dengan pembukaan kegiatan yang bersifat experiential learning, seperti praktikum, lokakarya, kuliah lapangan, dan studio di semester ini.

Selain itu, sidang tugas akhir juga mulai dilaksanakan secara luring dan/atau bauran di Kampus Ganesha dan Jatinangor. Fasilitas perpustakaan juga akan dibuka dengan maksimal pengunjung sebesar 25% dari kapasitas total. Mahasiswa diwajibkan sudah melaksanakan vaksinasi minimal dosis pertama, serta menjadi duta protokol kesehatan. Selain itu, mahasiswa juga membutuhkan izin orang tua untuk mengikuti perkuliahan tatap muka di semester ini.

Prof. Jaka menekankan, bahwa pihak kampus pasti memberikan layanan terbaik untuk sivitas akademika, tetapi tidak semua aspek kehidupan individu menjadi tanggung jawab institusi. Oleh karena itu, seluruh pihak yang terlibat diharapkan dapat berperan serta menyukseskan program ini sesuai dengan tanggung jawab dan kapasitas masing-masing.
