Bangkok: The Office of the Prime Minister conducted a wreath-laying ceremony to honor the Royal Monument of King Ananda Mahidol, Rama IX, on the 100th anniversary of his birth on September 20, 2025, at the Royal Monument located at the foot of Rama VIII Bridge.
According to Thai News Agency, the ceremony commenced at 8:00 a.m. and witnessed participation from various government agencies and state enterprises. They collectively laid wreaths of flowers to pay homage to the Royal Monument, commemorating the royal grace and expressing loyalty to His Majesty King Ananda Mahidol, the Eighth Ramathibodi. Mr. Phatiyuth Jaisawang, the Acting Director-General of MCOT Public Company Limited, also took part in the wreath-laying ceremony, marking this significant historical occasion.
The event, organized by the Prime Minister's Office, included a Buddhist chanting ceremony and alms-giving to monks in honor of His Majesty the King. In addition to these solemn commemorations, cultural activities were organized, featuring a royal blessing dance performance and a Khon performance of the Ramakien titled "Vayubut Wutthikrai." A contest for the best altar table was also held at Wat Suthat Thepwararam, encouraging citizens from all backgrounds to express their loyalty and participate in preserving this cultural tradition.
