Buriram: A young man encountered two strange lights floating in the middle of the night. He is not sure what the lights are, but locals believe they are Krasue.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Chatree Boonruek, 39 years old, from Lahan Sai, Buriram Province, witnessed two strange green and red lights, each the size of a basin, floating back and forth during a nighttime rain. While collecting clothes for his father outside, he decided to record and live-stream the peculiar sight on his personal Facebook page. In his post, he described the lights as oval-shaped and alternating in colors of red, green, orange, and yellow. Initially thinking they were street lights, he realized their unusual nature when they quickly ascended into the sky. Mr. Chatree expressed both curiosity and fear as he ventured alone into the rainy night to investigate further.
The live-stream quickly garnered attention and sparked a flurry of responses and theories from viewers. Some speculated that the lights might be reflections, possibly from a frog, while others suggested they could be ghostly in nature. Many villagers, driven by local folklore, believed the lights were the work of a Krasue, a ghost said to roam at night in search of food.
Mr. Chatree recounted the event, noting that he noticed the lights at 1:43 a.m. on May 30, overlapping into the morning of May 31. Despite his uncertainty about the nature of the lights, he shared his experience openly and even took measures to show respect by lighting incense and asking for forgiveness, should the lights indeed be supernatural or ghostly entities. Having spent much of his time working in another province, this encounter marked his first experience with such an occurrence. Although the villagers were convinced of the Krasue's presence, Mr. Chatree remained cautious, emphasizing his intent to respect any supernatural beliefs while allowing for a peaceful coexistence.
