Bangkok: Mr. Wisut Chainarun, a Member of Parliament for the Pheu Thai Party and chairman of the Government Coalition Coordination Committee, has addressed concerns regarding the need for an interim prime minister. He emphasized that the Pheu Thai Party remains committed to its proposed candidate, Chaikasem Nitisiri, and urged patience amidst political uncertainties.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Wisut clarified that the Pheu Thai Party has not considered nominating an alternative candidate for the role of prime minister, despite potential political disruptions. He pointed out that Ms. Paethongtarn Shinawatra, the current Prime Minister, has been temporarily relieved of her duties but retains the opportunity to provide an explanation. The situation remains unresolved, and he encouraged the public to await the Constitutional Court's decision before drawing conclusions. Mr. Wisut reiterated that Chaikasem Nitisiri is in line as a candidate, and there is no immediate need for others to step in prematurely.
