Welfare Spending Updates for August 2025 by Comptroller General’s Department

Bangkok: The Comptroller General's Department has provided an update on welfare spending for August 2025, detailing the benefits available to eligible individuals under the 2022 state welfare registration project. Eligible persons can utilize a smart ID card to access these benefits.

According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Thiwaporn Phasuk, Deputy Director-General and spokesperson for the Comptroller General's Department, outlined the specific benefits that will be available starting August 1, 2025. These include a purchase limit of 300 baht per person per month, a cooking gas discount limit of 80 baht per person for every three months (applicable from July to September 2025), and a travel expenses limit of 750 baht per person per month. The travel benefits cover public transportation, including buses, trains, BMTA, electric trains, and private buses that are part of the project.

Further detailing the welfare provisions, on August 20, 2025, an additional disability allowance of 200 baht per month will be provided to eligible disabled individuals. This is in addition to the existing disability allowance of 800 baht per month. The additional allowance will be transferred to a bank account linked to PromptPay using the eligible individual's 13-digit national ID number or to the bank account of the individual or their authorized representative.

The Comptroller General's Department also reported the results of state welfare payments from July 1-31, 2025.
