Wat Saket’s “Red Cloth Wrapping” Ceremony Opens Annual Worship of Buddha’s Relics


Bangkok: Wat Saket Ratcha Wora Maha Wihan, also known as Phu Khao Thong, in the Pom Prap Sattru Phai District of Bangkok, played host to the “Red Cloth Wrapping” ceremony on October 29, 2025. This event marks the commencement of the annual worship of the Buddha’s relics, a significant tradition sustained since the era of King Rama V. According to Thai News Agency, the “Red Cloth Wrapping” ceremony involves draping a red cloth over the Royal Mountain, symbolizing the invocation of good fortune for the nation and its people.
