Warawut Leads Efforts to Aid Vulnerable Groups in Chong Bok

Chong bok: "Warawut" spearheads an initiative by the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security to visit vulnerable groups in Chong Bok, Ubon Ratchathani, alongside social workers and multidisciplinary professionals to engage in morale-boosting activities. Mr. Varawut Silpa-archa, Minister of Social Development and Human Security (MSDHS), has highlighted the impact of the situation along the Thai-Cambodian border in seven provinces, including Ubon Ratchathani, on vulnerable groups such as young children, the elderly, and the disabled.

According to Thai News Agency, the MSDHS team across these provinces has been actively providing assistance and care to these groups, adhering to guidelines from the Disaster Vulnerable Groups Administration Center (DDCC). The team, including social workers and psychologists, has been visiting homes to offer advice on social welfare rights and mental rehabilitation. There is also cooperation with security and administrative agencies to ensure the safety of vulnerable groups, especially in emergencies that may require urgent evacuations.

On July 4th, Mr. Silpa-archa and other ministry executives planned a visit to Nam Yuen District, Ubon Ratchathani, to engage with vulnerable groups and rehearse assistance strategies for the border situation. The visit includes several key points, starting with the Dom Pradit Subdistrict Administrative Organization, where they will meet affected groups and provide consumer goods. The team will also visit Ban Paet Um School to review evacuation plans and offer financial aid to children from impoverished families.

Further, the delegation will visit homes of disabled individuals to provide support and consumer goods. Their final stop will be at Dom Pradit Witthaya School, one of the designated evacuation points, to evaluate management plans and distribute consumer goods to community leaders and representatives of vulnerable groups.
