Wan Nor Reviews Petition to Remove NACC Chairman Amidst No-Confidence Debate

Bangkok: "Wan Nor" has revealed that he is currently reviewing the details of a petition to remove the NACC chairman. Mr. Wan Muhammad Noor Matha, President of the House of Representatives, discussed the progress of the case initiated by the People's Party to remove Mr. Suchart Trakulkesomsuk, Chairman of the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC), indicating that the investigation is ongoing. Given that this period coincides with the no-confidence debate, he assured that the review will be completed as promptly as possible, emphasizing that the Constitution's Section 236 mandates comprehensive consideration.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Wan Muhammad Noor expressed confidence that the investigation would not exceed a three-month timeframe. While acknowledging that several months remain in the year, he stated that the House of Representatives Secretariat, along with the legal department and relevant executives, must conduct a thorough investigation. They are expected to reconvene to determine whether the petition can be forwarded to the court for further review.

Regarding concerns about being implicated due to an audio clip referencing the Speaker of the House, Mr. Wan Muhammad Noor stated his lack of worry, asserting adherence to constitutional and House regulations. He highlighted the necessity for officials to scrutinize the extensive content, which spans over a hundred pages and includes references to various organizations such as the Administrative Court and the NACC. Nonetheless, he committed to performing his duties to the best of his abilities.
