Suphan buri: "Varawut" urgently sends a team from the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security to provide assistance to victims of the fireworks explosion.
According to Thai News Agency, Warawut Silpa-archa, Minister of Social Development and Human Security, has taken swift action following a tragic fireworks explosion in Suphan Buri Province. The incident occurred in Ban Pho Subdistrict, Mueang Suphan Buri District, and resulted in nine deaths and one injury. Warawut has ordered the deployment of a team from the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security to coordinate with the Suphan Buri Governor and local agencies to expedite assistance and compensation for the victims.
The Center for Accelerated Public Welfare Management (CCRMM) under the Ministry reported that the explosion took place at 11:00 a.m. in a house where fireworks were being manufactured. An Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team inspected the site and secured the area to prevent unauthorized access. The Suphan Buri Provincial Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office discovered that ten individuals were present in the house during the explosion. One person was injured and taken to Chao Phraya Yommarat Hospital, while nine others remain missing.
Mr. Piriya Chanthadilok, Governor of Suphan Buri Province, along with the Suphan Buri Provincial CRM team and relevant agencies, visited the scene to assess the situation. They have set up a coordination center at Wat Pho Tha Sai to manage and facilitate assistance for the affected individuals in collaboration with provincial authorities.
