Bangkok: Temperatures in upper Thailand are on the rise, while the northern and northeastern regions continue to experience cool to cold conditions. The Meteorological Department reported that despite the increase in temperatures, these areas will still have morning fog. Bangkok and its surrounding areas will see a slight temperature increase of 1-2 degrees Celsius.
According to Thai News Agency, the weather forecast for the next 24 hours suggests that the high-pressure area or moderate cold air mass covering the upper part of Thailand and the South China Sea is weakening. Consequently, temperatures are expected to rise, accompanied by morning fog, although the north and northeast will maintain their cool to cold climate. In contrast, the central region, including Bangkok, the eastern region, and the upper southern region, will experience cool weather in the mornings. Frost is expected on mountaintops and hilltops, where temperatures could be cold to very cold. Residents are advised to take necessary health precautions due to the cold weather and to be cautious of potential fire hazards due to dry conditions. Additionally, travelers should exercise caution in foggy areas.
The moderate northeast monsoon affecting the Gulf of Thailand, the South, and the Andaman Sea is also weakening, resulting in minimal rainfall in the southern region. The lower Gulf of Thailand will experience waves between 1-2 meters, with thunderstorms potentially causing waves above 2 meters. Mariners are advised to navigate cautiously and avoid areas prone to thunderstorms.
Weather conditions affecting dust accumulation are expected to worsen as air circulation remains poor-weak, and weakening winds limit the dispersion of air pollution. Surface inversions are contributing to increased dust particle concentration, raising concerns over air quality.
Regional forecasts indicate that Bangkok and surrounding areas will experience cool mornings with fog, and temperatures will rise between 1-2 degrees Celsius, reaching a maximum of 32-34 degrees Celsius. The northern region will see temperatures rise slightly, with cold to very cold conditions on mountaintops, where frost may form. The northeastern region will mirror these conditions with a slight temperature increase. The central and eastern regions will experience similar weather patterns, with temperatures rising 1-2 degrees Celsius. The southern regions will see varying conditions, with the east coast experiencing some thunderstorms and waves up to 2 meters, while the west coast will have light rain in some areas.
