UBON RATCHATHANI: Thousands of tourists flocked to Pha Chanadai Viewpoint in Khong Chiam District to witness the first sunrise of 2025. Braving temperatures of 13 degrees Celsius, both Thai and international visitors gathered to experience the symbolic start to the New Year by watching the sun rise at 6:25 a.m.
According to Thai News Agency, more than 1,000 tourists positioned themselves at the cliff's edge, seeking to embrace the auspiciousness and positive energy associated with the first light of the New Year. This annual event is seen as a way to invite brightness and glory into their lives, aligning with the traditional Thai Buddhist calendar year 2568.
One tourist from Bangkok shared that he and his family traveled to the region during the holiday period specifically to participate in this tradition. He emphasized the significance of the event as an auspicious start to the year and expressed his admiration for the invigorating atmosphere at Pha Chanadai, noting the refreshing air quality. He stated his intention to return next year with his family and encouraged others to visit Ubon Ratchathani Province to partake in the experience.
