Three Thai Nationals Arrested for Illegal Border Crossing to Work in Cambodian Casino

Aranyaprathet: Three Thai men were apprehended while attempting to cut through a natural channel in Aranyaprathet District, Sa Kaeo Province, to cross into Poipet, Cambodia. They confessed that they intended to return to work at an online casino. According to Thai News Agency, the arrests occurred after Thai authorities reinforced measures prohibiting citizens from crossing the border to work in casinos and entertainment venues on the Cambodian side. Despite these restrictions, attempts to illegally cross the border persist. The Burapha Task Force launched an operation to intercept the three men, who were found carrying luggage and traversing a natural channel in Khlong Phrom Hot, Aranyaprathet District, on their way to Poipet. Upon questioning, all three individuals confessed to returning to their jobs at the online casino, where they had been employed for nearly eight months, earning 18,000 baht per month. One of the men admitted to being the guide responsible for leading the other two across the border. The authorities subsequently transferred them to Khlong Luek Police Station for further legal proceedings.
