Bangkok: Ratchadamnoen Avenue is crowded with people waiting to see off His Majesty. Officials from the Bureau of the Royal Household have prepared the area within the Grand Palace for the royal funeral procession of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit the Queen Mother, as people gradually occupy areas along Ratchadamnoen Avenue, waiting to see Her Majesty off to heaven.
According to Thai News Agency, the Bureau of the Royal Household opened the Sahathai Samakhom Pavilion in the Grand Palace for the public to bathe the royal urn before a portrait of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother, throughout the morning and closed at 1:00 PM. The venue is now ready to accommodate the royal coffin procession from Chulalongkorn Hospital, Thai Red Cross Society, to the Grand Palace for the royal merit-making ceremony for Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother, at Dusit Maha Prasat Throne Hall.
As people gathered to occupy spaces on both sides of Ratchadamnoen Nai Road, both on the Sanam Luang side and the Supreme Court side, the line reached the Phra Mae Thorani statue. Volunteer officers, soldiers, police, administrative officials, doctors, and nurses from the Boromarajonani National Institute of Drug Abuse Treatment and Rehabilitation (BNIDRT), as well as rescue volunteers from the Ruamkatanyu Foundation, provided shade tents, sitting mats, food, drinking water, and medication to provide assistance.
In the area of Ratchadamnoen Road in front of the monument, people holding royal portraits have also begun to occupy the area. These two people, one from Nonthaburi and the other from Tak Province, both stated that they were grateful for His Majesty's grace. As soon as they heard the announcement, they rushed all night to send His Majesty off to heaven.
Similarly, Ms. Nittaya, who came with more than 20 friends from the 1st Cavalry Regiment, King's Guard, joined in the farewell ceremony and shared her impressions of Her Majesty the Queen Mother.
Medical personnel from the Princess Mother's National Institute of Drug Abuse Treatment and Rehabilitation have provided basic health care, including inhalers, balms, and pain relievers. The service center is located at the Phra Mae Thorani Bip Muai Hom statue.
For those planning to pay their respects before the portrait of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother, at the Sahathai Samakhom Pavilion tomorrow, please wear appropriate mourning attire. Refrain from wearing round-neck shirts. Ladies are requested to wear skirts and refrain from wearing trousers.
