Tambon Sai Ma: A thief pretended to be a customer before stealing a branded shirt from a convenient laundry shop.
According to Thai News Agency, surveillance cameras inside a laundry shop captured clear footage of a thief, a thin man wearing glasses, who rode an old motorcycle into the coin-operated facility. He pretended to interact with other customers before seizing an opportunity to steal. When the shop was momentarily empty, he examined clothes in a basket, which did not belong to him, dragged the basket to a hidden corner, and then took the clothes out of the shop, escaping on his motorcycle.
This incident took place at a laundry shop in Tambon Sai Ma, Amphoe Mueang Nonthaburi. Ms. Darunee, the 54-year-old caretaker of the shop, reported that a male thief stole clothes from a customer during the night. On March 5, a regular customer had brought clothes to wash in the afternoon using machines 7 and 8. The customer dried the clothes as usual and informed that they would return to collect them in the evening or the next morning since the shop is open 24 hours.
On the morning of March 6, 2015, the customer returned to collect the clothes but noticed that several shirts were missing. A review of the CCTV footage revealed the suspect.
Ms. Darunee expressed that since the shop's opening, she had never experienced such an event. She also directed a message to the thief to return the clothes, promising not to hold a grudge or take action if the clothes are secretly returned. However, if the items are not returned, she is determined to pursue the matter further.
