Bangkok: Thailand has implemented measures to assist workers and farmers as tensions continue at the Thai-Cambodian border. The spokesperson of the NBTC has confirmed that Thailand is committed to providing sincere help and compensation to those affected, while also seeking to resolve border issues through bilateral negotiations.
According to Thai News Agency, the Center for Special Operations in the Thai-Cambodian Border Situation Administration (CSOPA) has shared a message from Rear Admiral Surasan Kongsiri, the CSOPA's spokesman for security. He emphasized that Thailand has strategies in place to support affected workers and farmers. These include job placements and alternative markets for fruits and vegetables, developed in collaboration with the Ministry of Labor, the Ministry of Commerce, and the private sector.
Ms. Maratee Nalita Andamo, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Information and Deputy Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, reiterated that the Thai government views bilateral mechanisms and negotiations as the most effective means to address the ongoing issues. She stated that Thailand remains ready to engage in discussions with sincerity and honesty, maintaining the spirit of being good neighbors.
