Bangkok: Thailand is preparing to create a full atmosphere as host of the SEA Games. Tourism Minister confirms international politics do not affect sports, ready to be a good host welcoming all ASEAN countries. According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Surawong Thienthong, Minister of Tourism and Sports, officially opened the 2nd SEA Games Coordinating Committee meeting at The Grand Fourwings Convention Hotel to follow up on the progress of hosting the 33rd SEA Games, which Thailand will host from December 9-20. The meeting was attended by Colonel Chaiyaphak Siriwat, Vice President of the Southeast Asian Sports Federation, Assistant Professor Pimol Srivikorn, President of the National Olympic Committee of Thailand, Dr. Kongsak Yodmanee, Governor of the Sports Authority of Thailand, and the Committee for Monitoring the Progress of the SEA Games. Mr. Sorawong gave a press conference after the meeting that he reported on the progress of the competition by publicizing and creating awareness all along. From now on, he will create an atmosphere by decorating the city with flags to create an atmosphere of hosting the SEA Games, creating more excitement among Thai people. He also mentioned the dispute between Thailand and Cambodia, saying that it will not have an impact and confirmed that he will fully facilitate the participation of Cambodian athletes in the competition for the nation. Dr. Kongsak Yodmanee said about the readiness of the competition that it has progressed a lot at the moment. The competition venues in all 3 main provinces, namely Bangkok, Chonburi and Songkhla, have been confirmed for all 50 main sports, 3 demonstration sports and 1 value-added sport. In addition, the theme song for the SEA Games was also released, titled 'One Percent,' composed and sung in the rap section by Golf F.HERO, a famous Thai hip-hop artist, and sung by Violette Wautier. The song's content is about giving encouragement and inspiration on the path to success.
