Thailand and Cambodia Sign Agreement to Reduce Conflict

Kuala lumpur: Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul announced that an agreement has been signed between Thailand and Cambodia, with both nations committed to adhering to its terms. He expressed optimism that this agreement would help in reducing conflict between the two countries.

According to Thai News Agency, Prime Minister Anutin shared that he has communicated with Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet, who confirmed Cambodia's commitment to the agreement. The meeting in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, where the statement was signed, also involved US President Donald Trump and Malaysian Prime Minister Dato' Seri Anwar Ibrahim, the current ASEAN Chair. Anutin emphasized the collaborative efforts to achieve peace, highlighting its importance over the loss of life and property.

Furthermore, the Prime Minister discussed the signed memorandum of understanding with US President Trump, requesting further support on taxation matters. He pointed out Thailand's ongoing cooperation with the United States and expressed a desire for additional tax considerations. The Ministry of Commerce, along with relevant agencies, will continue discussions with the United States Trade Representative (USTR) regarding this issue.
