Thai National Team Adjusts Practice Schedule to Dodge Rain Ahead of King’s Cup Final Against Syria

HAT YAI: Masatada Ishii, the head coach of the Thai national football team, has adjusted the team's training schedule to an earlier time to evade potential rain disruptions ahead of their crucial King's Cup final against Syria scheduled for tomorrow night. According to Thai News Agency, this strategic move was made to ensure the players remain dry and focused, as the usual practice time coincided with the daily onset of rain at 5:30 PM. Over the past six days, the team had been following a routine of practicing at 5:00 PM. However, today's session at the Prince of Songkla University Stadium commenced at 4:00 PM. This adjustment was crucial as it is the team's final practice before the big game. To maintain focus and strategy, fans were not permitted to attend the practice session, and media access was restricted to the first 15 minutes. Additionally, a press conference was held in the afternoon featuring Ishii, Jonathan Khemdee, a defender of the Thai team, and Jose Lana, the coach of the Syrian team. Ishii conveyed his difficulty in predicting the game's outcome due to changes in the Syrian team lineup since their last encounter. He emphasized that the Thai team is well-prepared with a robust game plan. Khemdee expressed confidence and readiness for the match, underscoring the team's desire to secure a victory for their supporters. On the other hand, Lana commented on the high spirits and preparedness of the Syrian team, highlighting their intention to improve upon their last performance. The King's Cup schedule for October 14 includes the third-place match between the Philippines and Tajikistan at 4:30 PM, followed by the highly anticipated final between Thailand and Syria at 8:00 PM at Tinsulanon Stadium.
