Bangkok: "Jiraporn" highlights that the leaders used the audio clip of the conversation with "Hun Sen" as a rallying excuse. Ms. Jiraporn Sindhuphrai, MP for Roi Et and Minister to the Prime Minister's Office, Acting Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, addressed the rally held at Victory Monument. She stated that the same group of leaders has used the audio clip of a conversation with the Cambodian leader, Hun Sen, as an excuse to incite actions against the elected government.
According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Jiraporn expressed concern that the speeches delivered at the rally were intended to lead society towards overthrowing the government and calling for extra-constitutional measures. She emphasized that history has shown coups to regress and destroy political, economic, and social systems in the country.
Ms. Jiraporn reiterated the government's position on respecting the constitutional right to peaceful assembly. However, she pointed out that calls for a coup exceed these rights and are contrary to the democratic system. She questioned whether the leaders intentionally used the audio clip issue to incite the rally with the hidden agenda of paving the way for a coup. She urged the Thai people to oppose such actions.
