Bangkok: Social media users in Thailand are increasingly rallying behind the hashtag #ThaisLovePeaceButWhenInWarWeAreNotCowardly as a symbol of national unity amid growing tensions. The movement is gaining traction not only among the armed forces but also with the Royal Thai Police, who have pledged to protect national sovereignty and support tactical operations to safeguard both border and rear areas to their fullest potential.
According to Thai News Agency, the hashtag has also attracted the attention of Thailand's entertainment industry, with celebrities like legendary rocker Nui-Amphon Lamphun lending their voices to the cause. Nui-Amphon shared an image with a bold caption urging unity and peaceful coexistence. Similarly, Lt. Gen. Wanchana Sawatdee, known as Colonel Bird, has called upon Thai citizens to unite and use the hashtag to demonstrate solidarity.
Mr. Newin Chidchob, via his popular Facebook page 'Uncle Newin,' also joined the trend, posting an encouraging message that emphasizes resilience and determination. His post declared, "We will fight without retreating until we reach a single step," alongside a poignant image underscoring the nation's resolve.
Amidst the digital patriotism, there are also calls to oppose the use of military force as a solution to conflicts. Many are urging both parties involved to reduce military tensions and are requesting cooperation from the public and media to avoid actions that could escalate violence and potentially lead to a war with significant human costs.
