Bangkok: The Royal Thai Army has announced that the Thai side has no measures to control agricultural exports to Cambodia and will tighten border crossing measures in groups at risk of illegal activities.
According to Thai News Agency, Major General Winthai Suvari, the Army spokesman, clarified that the measures to control the Thai-Cambodian border crossings do not restrict the export of agricultural products. The backlog of agricultural products is a result of the Cambodian government's measures to restrict imports. This clarification aims to ensure all sectors have a correct understanding of the issue.
The army spokesman also mentioned that General Pana Klaewplodtook, the army chief, has ordered the continuation of relaxation measures to support humanitarian and educational activities. These measures allow Cambodian students to travel to educational institutions in Thailand and facilitate medical treatment for the sick in Thai hospitals. Officials will use their discretion in granting permission for such cases.
Screening measures for Thais traveling abroad will focus on those needing permission for basic living purposes. Activities like gambling remain restricted during this period. Furthermore, the army has announced additional measures prohibiting Thai employees of gambling dens, casinos, and entertainment venues from leaving Thailand to limit border crossings by groups at risk of illegal activities.
