Bangkok: A 19-year-old youth claims his opponent was riding his motorcycle against traffic, angered by a loud argument, and then stabbed him, leaving him injured in the middle of a convenience store. A shopkeeper said he heard a loud explosion before the incident.
According to Thai News Agency, the incident occurred around midnight when Pak Kret Police Station received a report of a group of teenagers chasing and slashing each other. Several individuals were stabbed in the back, and others sustained injuries to the neck. The altercation took place at a convenience store at the entrance to Soi Sukhaprachasan 3. Authorities found Bank (a pseudonym), approximately 40-45 years old, injured in the store with a knife lodged in his back. A long knife was discovered next to him. Another individual, Mr. Boy, also around 40-45 years old, had been punched and had minor injuries. Additionally, a bomb-like object was found near the convenience store. The teenagers involved were identified as Tod (the stabber), Nam, and Fia.
From questioning Mr. Tod, who was also stabbed in the neck, he recounted that he and three other juniors were on a motorcycle when they encountered Mr. Bank. The opposing party was riding against traffic, which led to insults being exchanged. This provoked Mr. Bank's side to grab a knife and chase them. The confrontation escalated to a physical altercation at a convenience store. Mr. Bank's side attempted to stab Mr. Tod, who then managed to snatch the knife and retaliate, resulting in Mr. Bank being stabbed. Mr. Tod also sustained a neck injury during the scuffle. All involved parties claimed they did not know each other prior to the incident and alleged that Mr. Bank's group appeared to be under the influence and initiated the conflict.
A witness, Ms. A, reported seeing a group of three teenagers on a motorcycle, followed by Mr. Bank's side with about 5-6 companions. The groups engaged in a chase and physical fight. Ms. A heard one gunshot and two explosions, prompting her to seek shelter in a convenience store. Subsequently, the teenagers attacked the other group, resulting in one individual being stabbed in the back.
