Bangkok: Suwat Liptapanlop, the chairman of the Chart Pattana Party and former deputy prime minister, celebrated his 70th birthday by opening his home at Rajavithi for a grand event. The celebration included a religious ceremony led by Somdet Phra Maha Ratchamangkhun Muni, or Somdet Thongchai, from Wat Traimit Witthayaram Worawihan. Attendees included family members, political figures such as Panprith Pahitthanukorn, former deputy prime minister and minister of foreign affairs, as well as members of the Chart Pattana Party, civil servants, and representatives from the business sector, all of whom came to extend their blessings and present gifts.

According to Thai News Agency, Suwat disclosed that the religious leader Somdet Thongchai did not offer political blessings, focusing instead on wishing him wealth and success. In a gesture of goodwill, Suwat gifted the media a Phra Luang Koon amulet, model 2564, symbolizing good fortune.

The celebration also promised a visit from notable political figures like former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul, leader of the Bhumjaithai Party, who were expected to join Suwat for lunch and extend their birthday wishes.

The morning atmosphere was notably cheerful, with Suwat welcoming guests warmly and sharing moments with his nephew, "Nong Athi," delighting the media with photographs capturing the joyous occasion.
