Suspected Infection Case in Nong Bua Lamphu Under Investigation

Nong Bua Lamphu: A suspected infected patient has been identified in Nong Bua Lamphu, with lab results expected to follow tomorrow. The Nong Bua Lamphu Provincial Public Health Office reported that the patient was found with itchy bumps on the back and shoulders and was subsequently sent for testing to determine the cause.

According to Thai News Agency, the Nong Bua Lamphu Provincial Health Office received notification on May 29, 2025, about a patient in Non Sang District exhibiting itchy bumps and multiple pus-filled sores. Despite these symptoms, the patient's overall condition remains normal. Further investigation revealed a history of consuming raw food, prompting health officials to conduct a thorough disease investigation.

The Provincial Public Health Office has coordinated efforts with the Disease Control Office 8 in Khon Kaen Province, provincial public health officials, local agencies, community leaders, and sub-district health promotion hospitals. This team is working to investigate the disease and collect specimens for analysis at a central laboratory. The results of these tests are anticipated by Friday, May 31, 2025.

Preventive measures have been established by the Nong Bua Lamphu Provincial Public Health Office in collaboration with related networks. These measures include disease prevention guidelines, contact surveillance, and public communication to ensure understanding among local residents. All operations are being carried out in accordance with the Ministry of Public Health's standards.

On the same day, preventive actions extended to the Suwannakhuha District Livestock Office, which conducted an inspection at the Suwannakhuha cattle and buffalo market. The inspection involved assessing the health of 57 animals, including 44 cows and 13 buffaloes, and implementing strict disinfectant protocols for vehicles entering and exiting the market. This is part of broader measures to control infectious diseases in animals.
