Bangkok: The Supreme Court examined witnesses in the case concerning the forced punishment of former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra, focusing on the testimonies of medical professionals from the Police General Hospital. This marks the fifth round of witness examinations in the ongoing legal proceedings.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Winyat Chatmontri, the lawyer representing Thaksin Shinawatra, provided details about the day's proceedings. The court summoned a total of six medical witnesses, including both current and former chief physicians as well as members of the medical team responsible for Thaksin's treatment. The examination process is expected to be lengthy, with the court expressing interest in various details.

The legal team is required to present documents related to Thaksin's medical records, including his treatment history abroad. These documents are crucial for the court's considerations, and Mr. Winyat has prepared questions regarding these records in advance. However, the final decision on whether these documents will be admitted rests with the court.
