Bangkok: Supachai Phosu, former Second Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives and ex-MP for Nakhon Phanom from the Bhumjaithai Party, has expressed his readiness to respond to the Election Commission's summons concerning allegations of collusion in the selection of senators. He reaffirms his innocence in the matter.
According to Thai News Agency, the 26th Central Investigation and Inquiry Committee of the Election Commission (EC), collaborating with the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) and the Anti-Money Laundering Office (AMLO), has issued summonses to ten individuals, including Supachai. Supachai stated that he has yet to receive the summons and is unaware of the evidence supporting the allegations. Consequently, he is unable to comment on the details at this time.
When questioned about his preparedness to declare his innocence, Supachai confirmed his willingness to cooperate fully with the EC. He emphasized that there is no issue with providing explanations and that he harbors no concerns regarding the situation.
Supachai also mentioned that he has not communicated with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul, leader of the Bhumjaithai Party, regarding the matter, noting that their meetings are infrequent. Nonetheless, he reiterated his readiness to present his case to the Election Commission.
