Suchart Declines to Comment on 14th Floor Case Investigation Results

Bangkok: "Suchart" has refused to comment on the investigation results of the 14th floor case, stating that the matter is under the supervision of "Ekwit." He confirmed that evidence has already been sent to the Supreme Court.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Suchart Trakulkasemsuk, chairman of the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC), provided an update on the case involving Mr. Thaksin Shinawatra, the former prime minister of the Raksa Tua Party. The investigation, which concerns an issue on the 14th floor, is currently in progress and falls under the jurisdiction of Mr. Ekwit Watchawalku, an NACC member responsible for overseeing the justice process. The case was filed against a civil servant rather than the former prime minister himself.

When questioned about the timeline for the investigation results, Mr. Suchart explained that Mr. Ekwit, as the head of the investigation team, would determine the schedule. He emphasized his inability to interfere but noted that he has been regularly inquiring about the case's progress, which remains within the stipulated 2-year + 1-year timeframe.

Further inquiries regarding whether the NACC had already sent evidence to the Supreme Court were met with confirmation from Mr. Suchart that the evidence had indeed been forwarded.
