Student Loan Fund Introduces Online Debt Restructuring for Borrowers

Bangkok: Student Loan Fund invites you to restructure your debt online, conveniently and reduce your travel expenses, via the Student Loan Fund website. Verify your identity via the ThaiD application from now on.

According to Thai News Agency, Dr. Nantawan Wongkhacharoenkitti, Manager of the Student Loan Fund, stated that the Fund has previously facilitated debt restructuring contracts at its office and through regional visits to help borrowers who are repaying debts, particularly those facing legal actions or enforcement. This initiative aims to extend repayment periods and alleviate guarantors' responsibilities. Over 253,000 borrowers have engaged in restructuring contracts with the Fund.

To enhance accessibility, the Fund now offers electronic debt restructuring contracts. Borrowers no longer need to visit the Fund's office or provincial centers. They can independently complete restructuring contracts via the website www.studentloan.or.th and authenticate their identity using the ThaiD application.

The Fund urges all borrowers in repayment, regardless of their legal status, to opt for electronic restructuring to promptly ease guarantors' burdens. Borrowers can continue monthly repayments to the Fund at the same rate by the 5th of each month, with a 15-year completion period. The final payment must be made before the borrower turns 65 years old. Upon completion, the Fund will waive all previously deferred fines.
