Bangkok: Officials are strictly enforcing checkpoints at regular intervals to screen people who wish to travel into the "Ban Nong Chan" area. Reporters stated that after Major General Benjapol Dechatiwong Na Ayutthaya, Commander of the Burapha Force, signed the Burapha Force announcement defining a peacekeeping area, martial law was used to control the area of "Ban Nong Chan", drawing a line on Si Phen Road as a peacekeeping line, prohibiting the carrying of weapons and the indiscriminate use of loudspeakers.
According to Thai News Agency, the atmosphere has been peaceful recently, with sparse crowds in the area where the rally was held today, and no stage or sound trucks. However, people from outside the area continue to travel to Ban Nong Chan, often with the intention of creating content for social media, including checking in on Facebook or filming videos for distribution on the TikTok app.
Following the implementation of the area control regulations, regular troops were replaced by military police to control the Si Phen Road area, which had been a protest site. Military police and Village Security Guards (VSCs) also established checkpoints at regular intervals to question and screen individuals seeking to enter the Ban Nong Chan area.
