Still a Cause for Concern: Flooding in 11 Districts of Ayutthaya, Affecting More Than 46,000 Households

Ayutthaya: The flooding situation in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province, caused by the Chao Phraya Dam in Chainat Province releasing water downstream at a rate of 2,300 cubic meters per second, has resulted in serious concerns about the impact on homes along the banks of the Chao Phraya, Noi, Pa Sak, and tributaries. Bang Ban District in particular has been cut off from the outside world, with some homes flooded up to the second floor. Residents in the middle of the floodwaters have had to use boats to access them. The latest update on flooding in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province is 11 districts, affecting over 46,000 households, 33 schools, and 38 temples.

According to Thai News Agency, the water release from the Chao Phraya Dam has severely impacted several communities, causing significant disruption to daily life. The affected areas are grappling with transportation challenges, as floodwaters have inundated roads and isolated certain districts. Efforts are underway to provide relief and support to those impacted, with priority given to ensuring access to essential services and supplies.
