Bangkok: The Office of the Public Sector Development Commission (OPDC) is advancing efforts to expedite the disbursement of state enterprise investment budgets. The initiative is aimed at stimulating the economy, with the three electricity authorities leading the disbursement activities.
According to Thai News Agency, the State Enterprise Policy Office (SEPO) is focusing on accelerating the disbursement of funds allocated to state enterprises. Mr. Thibdee Wattanakul, Director of the State Enterprise Policy Committee Office (SOE), disclosed that the disbursement activities of 43 state enterprises are being closely monitored. These enterprises are categorized into two groups based on their fiscal calendars: those that follow the fiscal year and those that adhere to the calendar year.
For the year 2025, the investment budget framework stands at 263,887 million baht. By the end of June 2025, the accumulated disbursement reached 149,448 million baht, which is 103 percent of the disbursement plan. Specifically, fiscal year state enterprises, comprising 34 organizations, disbursed 95,162 million baht, hitting 100 percent of their disbursement target from October 2024 to June 2025. Calendar year state enterprises, involving 9 organizations, disbursed 54,286 million baht, surpassing their target at 109 percent from January 2025 to June 2025.
The top-performing fiscal year state enterprises, each disbursing at least 95 percent of their plans, include the State Railway of Thailand (SRT), the Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand (MRTA), and the Metropolitan Waterworks Authority. Similarly, the leading calendar year disbursing enterprises are the Provincial Electricity Authority, the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand, and the Metropolitan Electricity Authority.
