Songkhla Governor Appoints Committee to Investigate Official Letter for Deputy Minister’s Visit

Songkhla: The Songkhla governor has ordered the establishment of a fact-finding committee to investigate the case of an official document signed by the governor addressed to the Songkhla District Chief, requesting assistance. Decha-Isara has set a deadline of 30 days for completion.

According to Thai News Agency, Songkhla Governor Chotinrin Kerdsom issued an order to appoint a fact-finding committee to investigate the case of a social media post circulating an official letter signed by the Songkhla Governor, addressed to the Mueang Songkhla District Chief, requesting assistance for Deputy Interior Minister Decha-ism Khaothong's travel to the province. This has caused damage and has led to criticism and negative impacts on the image of Songkhla Province.

The committee, chaired by Mr. Wittaya Chanthasen, Deputy Governor of Songkhla Province, is tasked with investigating and gathering evidence within 30 days before reporting its findings and presenting its opinions to the appointing authority for consideration and action. If any wrongdoing is found, disciplinary and criminal action will be taken.
