“Siriphong” Hits Back at “Uncle Tony” Over Cambodian Remarks

Bangkok: "Siriphong" responded to "Uncle Tony's" remarks questioning whether Bhumjaithai is a Cambodian party, stating he is unsure of the Cambodian leader's ethics but knows their country's leader refers to him as "Uncle." He assured that if any action is needed, he will take care of it.

According to Thai News Agency, the Bhumjaithai Party page shared a picture and message from Mr. Siripong Angkasakulkiat, Deputy Leader of the Bhumjaithai Party. He addressed allegations of the party's potential Cambodian ties, emphasizing their unfamiliarity with the Cambodian leader's ethics and highlighting the respect their leader shows by calling him "Uncle."

The response came after former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra's comments during the seminar 'Unlocking Thailand's Future, Fighting the Global Crisis.' Thaksin expressed surprise over recent events in Cambodia, criticizing the Cambodian leader's ethics and questioning the allegiance of the Bhumjaithai Party, which recently left the government. He raised doubts about the party's national loyalty, speculating on their Cambodian or Thai identity.
