Bangkok: Siripong Angkasakulkiat, Deputy Leader of the Bhumjaithai Party and Head of the party's Economic Team, convened a meeting with private sector stakeholders to discuss plans to revitalize the "Half-Half" project. This initiative has been a priority for the Bhumjaithai government, aimed at boosting economic growth and fostering collaboration between the government and private enterprises.
According to Thai News Agency, the meeting was attended by key figures from the business community, including representatives from the Thai Restaurant Association, LINE Man, Grab, and Wongnai. The discussions centered around integrating these businesses into the "Half-Half" scheme, with Mr. Siripong expressing gratitude for their trust and participation. He emphasized the government's commitment to fast-tracking economic policies, with the "Half-Half" project being a focal point of their initial policy rollout.
Mr. Yod Chinsuphakul, CEO of LINE MAN Wongnai, shared that an updated list of participating restaurants will be incorporated into the system, ensuring seamless involvement in the program. He expressed confidence that any potential issues would be managed effectively.
However, concerns were raised by Ms. Thaniwan Kulmongkol, President of the Thai Restaurant Association, regarding back taxes faced by businesses previously involved in the program. These concerns are particularly pressing for entities registered as juristic persons.
Mr. Siripong assured attendees that he would address these issues in subsequent meetings with the economic team and communicate them to Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, underscoring the government's responsiveness to stakeholder feedback.
