Senate Budget Committee 2016 to Live-Stream Meetings for Public Engagement

Bangkok: The Senate Budget Committee for 2016 is set to live-stream its meetings and engage with relevant agencies from June 19 to August 26. The initiative aims to encourage public participation and transparency in the government's budget guidelines.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Alongkot Woraki, a member of the Senate and chairman of the Special Committee on the Study of the Draft Budget Act for the Fiscal Year 2026, announced that the committee meetings will be available online via Facebook Live and YouTube. The sessions will start at 9:00 a.m. and continue until the meetings conclude. This platform allows the public to follow the discussions and provide feedback on the Budget Act for the Fiscal Year 2026. The meetings will feature explanations from various agencies, including regional, central, and local bodies, with the public able to hear the questions and responses facilitated by the 45-member Special Committee.

Mr. Alongkot highlighted the committee's commitment to evaluating the fiscal year 2026 budget's effectiveness. In addition to the live broadcasts, a seminar is scheduled for July 25 to discuss the budgets for 2016 and 2027. The event will include discussions on the 2016 budget and feature sub-group meetings in five categories: economy, society, security, disasters, and others. Senators are prepared to address any concerns and take responsibility for their inquiries, promoting an open dialogue for the public's benefit.
