Santhana Insists on No Forgiveness or Mediation After Thonglor Incident

Bangkok: "Santhana" went to meet the police at Thonglor Police Station to file a daily record of the case of "Bang Mat" slapping him in the face in the parking lot of a pub in the Thonglor area. He confirmed that he would not forgive him and would mediate without having to talk.

According to Thai News Agency, the incident involved Mr. Wanchai Main, known as Bang Mat Khlong Tan, who slapped Mr. Santhana Prayoonrat, a former police officer, at 2:30 a.m. on April 3 in the parking lot of an entertainment venue in the Thonglor area of Bangkok. Mr. Santhana visited the Thonglor Police Station to meet with investigators, where he spent over two hours before speaking to reporters. He explained that his visit was to file a daily record as evidence, not a complaint, as he was exercising his rights to prevent further incidents and protect his property.

Mr. Santhana also provided information to the Metropolitan Police Bureau regarding the timeline of events, which was the reason for his visit to Thonglor Police Station. He sought to follow up on the progress of the investigation and requested that the officers provide him with information within seven days. He warned that if he did not receive the information within this period, it would imply that the Thonglor Police Station was withholding it. Mr. Santhana stated that he had collected all necessary video evidence and refuted allegations that he had an argument with the other party over benefits from the service place, car pickup, or other locations. He emphasized that he had no knowledge of or connection to these claims. He also mentioned plans to send a letter to the Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Army for clarification.

Mr. Santhana addressed reports from some media outlets, stating he held no ill will towards them, as he would have the opportunity to clarify any inaccuracies. When questioned about the possibility of mediation with Mr. Wanchai, Mr. Santhana firmly stated that there would be no forgiveness, mediation, or further discussion on the matter.

Meanwhile, Bang Mat Khlong Tan has not yet been contacted by the police. However, he expressed his readiness to meet with authorities and comply with the legal process if summoned.
