Sa kaeo: The Sa Kaeo Immigration Bureau has clarified rumors regarding the reopening of the Khlong Luek checkpoint. The Bureau stated that the recent activity was merely a final waiver for Thai nationals stranded in Cambodia and Cambodians on the Thai side, allowing them to return to Thailand only until August 31.
According to Thai News Agency, the Sa Kaeo Immigration Bureau addressed social media reports concerning the temporary suspension of operations at the Ban Khlong Luek permanent border crossing in Aranyaprathet District, Sa Kaeo Province. The suspension occurred between 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM on August 31, 2015. The Bureau also emphasized that all permanent border crossings in Sa Kaeo Province remain closed.
The Sa Kaeo Immigration Bureau confirmed that the waiver was not intended to signify any other developments and apologized to the public for any confusion or misunderstanding. This announcement aims to ensure a clear understanding of the situation.
