Bangkok: Urgent efforts are underway to assist workers who fell into pile holes at the construction site of the Orange Line electric train at Lan Luang Station. Officials are actively searching the ground, but the workers have not yet been located.
According to Thai News Agency, the Bangkok Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office (DDPM) reported that rescue operations commenced the previous night on May 19, 2025, following the accident. In response, sheet piles were installed to prevent ground sliding, and bracing was put in place to avoid collapse due to soil pressure. Additionally, backhoes were utilized to open the work site in search of the missing individuals.
As of 07:00 on May 20, 2025, the contractor's team constructed a well at a depth of 6 meters to stabilize the sheet pile. Given the constrained working area, an Auger was employed to open the side of the pit, allowing the soil to slide to the side instead, facilitating the search and rescue operations.
