Bangkok: Deputy Government Spokesperson announced that on May 9, 2025, known as Ploughing Ceremony Day, the Expressway Authority of Thailand (EXAT) will waive toll fees on three expressways. These expressways include Chaloem Maha Nakhon, Si Rat, and Bang Pa-in-Pak Kret, covering a total of 61 checkpoints.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Karom Polpornklang, the Deputy Government Spokesperson, stated that the toll waiver will be in effect from 00:01 to 24:00 on this public holiday. The waiver is a result of a policy by the Ministry of Transport and is part of an amended concession agreement between EXAT, Bangkok Expressway and Metro Public Company Limited (BEM), and North Bangkok Expressway Company Limited (NECL). The initiative aims to ease travel for the public during the holiday, reduce expenses, and alleviate traffic congestion at toll booths.
Mr. Karam also emphasized the importance of Easy Pass card users updating their information. He encouraged users to register and upgrade their cards to Easy Pass Plus through the EXAT Portal Application or the website www.thaieasypass.com. For further assistance, the Expressway User Information Center is available at the EXAT Call Center, reachable at 1543, around the clock.
