Bangkok: Region 4 Army Commander, Lt. Gen. Paisal Noosang, has stated that he is not concerned about being replaced as the commander of the Southern Border Provinces Command. This comes amid ongoing speculation regarding potential changes in military leadership in the region.
According to Thai News Agency, Lt. Gen. Paisal discussed the situation in southern Thailand following a visit from Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, Mr. Phumtham Vejjayachai, on May 24-25. During the visit, Mr. Phumtham gathered information from operational units focusing on proactive measures to identify target areas and apprehend suspects listed by security agencies.
Lt. Gen. Paisal addressed rumors of a leadership change, clarifying that his discussions with Mr. Phumtham did not include any mention of a change in command for the 4th Army Area. He emphasized that his primary focus remains on fulfilling his duties and maintaining a proactive stance in addressing the unrest. Lt. Gen. Paisal expressed uncertainty about the origin of the rumors, attributing the speculation to media inquiries and reports.
